These terms apply when you use Ford Connect, run by [Company name]. By using the site you agree to them.
What Ford Connect is
Ford Connect is a marketplace that helps buyers find Ford Ranger parts and vehicles from independent sellers. We are not the seller and we are not a party to any sale. Sellers are responsible for their listings and for what they sell. We check sellers before approving them, but we cannot guarantee any listing, seller or price. Inspect a part or vehicle, and check ownership documents, before you pay.
Accounts
You sign in with Google. Keep your account to yourself and give us true information. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Sellers
- List only items you are entitled to sell, described honestly. Declare known defects on vehicles.
- A listing is published after your shop is approved and you pay the one-time listing fee, which is shown before you pay. It stays live until it is sold or removed. Listing it again after that is a new fee. We may remove a listing that is misleading, prohibited or reported as a scam.
- Sellers must give accurate contact details, which buyers see after paying to unlock them.
The contact unlock fee
Buyers pay a small fee by M-Pesa (shown before paying) to see a seller's phone and WhatsApp numbers for a limited time (currently 30 days). The fee is for access to the contact details only. It is not a payment towards, or a guarantee of, any purchase, and the price of the item is agreed directly with the seller.
If the contact details do not work, use "Problem with this contact?" on the listing within 48 hours. We will look into it and may give you another unlock or a refund. [Lawyer to confirm the refund wording.]
Comments and conduct
Be polite and truthful. Do not share phone numbers, emails or links in comments, harass anyone, post spam, or post anything illegal. Comments may be held for approval, and we may remove them.
Import service
An import request asks us to find and quote a part. A quote is an estimate until you accept it, and delivery times and duties can change. [Lawyer and client to add payment, delivery, returns and warranty terms.]
Service tracker and guides
The service tracker, reminders, duty calculator and generation guides are aids, not professional advice. Follow your Ford owner's manual and a qualified mechanic, and confirm import duties with KRA or a clearing agent.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Ford Connect running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from dealings between buyers and sellers. Nothing here limits rights you have under Kenyan consumer law. [Lawyer to review.]
